COMMENTS:Ni Hao Kai-lan is an adorable show that provides children with a wonderful introduction to Chinese culture and language. We wish that Kai-lan had some female friends though. While Kai-lan Chow is the lead character and has an impressive role for a preschool character, the characters that surround her are all male. Any of these characters could have been female to offer preschoolers the opportunity to see more girls in diverse roles.
